Zeta Metroid is a boss in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. The Mushroom Kingdom Coalition will face Zeta Metroid in Ceres Distress.
History[]
Zeta Metroid is the sixth natural stage of a Metroid's life cycle. They appear as enemies in Metroid II: Return of Samus and its remake Metroid: Samus Returns. They also have a minor appearance in the Restricted Lab of Metroid Fusion.
The Zeta Metroid possesses a very different structure from all prior forms, as it now resembles a reptilian dinosaur. This stage is the beginning of the species' adult phase, and thus requires a patience and lot of firepower to kill. Although the Zeta Metroid no longer flies in Metroid: Samus Returns, it has high agility and is capable of climbing any surface. The Omega Metroid is the next and final stage for all standard Metroids.
In Metroid II: Return of Samus, Samus Aran encounters three Zeta Metroids during her mission to SR388, while in Samus Returns there are four Zetas.
Role In MKF[]
Zeta Metroid appears as a boss in Ceres Distress and if the player must find the secret exit, they must go through this boss before clearing it. This battle is unique as the Zeta Metroid has three phases:
Phase 1[]
The battle first starts as the Zeta Metroid hovers around the player in the room, shooting projectiles at them. During this fight, Metroids and Stones fall from the ceiling, which are the only way to deal damage to the boss. Also, two Ice Rods are available, which makes it easier for the player to defeat them.
Phase 2[]
The Zeta Metroid's attack patterns shift, which now moves across the walls while attacking with a lightning beam that creates sparks on the ground.
Phase 3[]
The last phase, in which the Zeta Metroid changes patterns again and starts moving around similar to the regular Metroids while it attacks by spitting out several green balls at the player.

Trivia[]
- Before it was demoted to a normal boss, Zeta Metroid was the only world boss that was finished that doesn't give the world key upon being defeated. The reason behind this is how the World Boss Meter is the trigger of the key, and the meter's size being too big to cover the arena's grounds, making the fight harder.
- Originally, in older versions of MKF, Zeta Metroid appeared as the level boss in World 9-4, but was relocated as the 9th world boss in a newer version of MKF.
- Starting in the v0.8 version & before v0.9, the Metroids the Zeta Metroid spawns now only take one hit to defeat them instead of three, making them slightly easier to deal with.
