VAN Pookin is a large, jack-o'-lantern robot that has three separate parts: one inside each other. It serves as a mini-boss in Shade Man's stage in the 1995 SNES game Mega Man 7. It attacks the player by jumping around and trying to land on the player to deal damage. The mini pumpkin fires green shots, and it can fly into the air and shoot many green shots.
In Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, VAN Pookin is located in the level House of Shadows, serving as a mini-boss. In the earlier version of Scientific Stronghold, VAN Pookin served as a mini-boss and defeating it would reveal a different path within the level (leading to either Knight Man or Shade Man) depending on whether it was defeated by shooting either its large eyes or the mini pumpkin inside it. Since the 0.785 update, VAN Pookin was relocated to the level House of Shadows and there is no secret path on how the player defeats it as it leads to the next area of the level regardless.
