Toyland is the 8th level in Isle of Genesis and is based on the second level from the 1990 Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse.
Completing this level will unlock Tails as a playable character.
Layout[]
This world is a living toy world with very colorful buildings and features some sort of parade going on with balloons and presents all over the place. This is one of the places that the main character Mickey Mouse visited in the Castle of Illusion as he was on his quest to find the seven gems of the Rainbow in the castle and save his beloved Minnie Mouse from the evil witch Mizrabel.
The player must travel to this toy world parade while dealing with the toy theme enemies like toy soldiers, toy airplanes, Jack-in-the-Boxes and clowns on unicycles, which require multiple hits to take down. The unicycles ridden by clowns can be used as shells to take out other enemies, such as Goombas dressed as clowns and Balloonboo robots trying to blend in with the other normal balloons for a surprise attack.
Instead of ? Blocks or Sonic monitors, there are presents boxes all over the place appearing on the ground or hanging on to a balloon to open for some power-ups and other goodies.
There is a secret exit in the first room by finding the key and putting it in the keyhole to unlock Pirate Resort in the map. If the player opts not to find the secret exit, they can advance to the second room, which features the same obstacles and enemies from the first room.
At the end of this level, the player will fight Calliope the Clown, a large, living Jack in the Box who attacks by trying to stomp on them and throwing a boxer glove across the screen that can only be avoided by ducking under the gloves. The only way to hurt Calliope is to jump on his head when he periodically launches trampolines from his box-like body. When he has only half of his health left, Calliope starts to shoot fire bullets when he's jumping and replacing some of the springs with Poison Mushrooms. After taking enough damage, Calliope will scream as he starts shaking his head rapidly before exploding and clearing the level, as the player can now choose between one of two fantasy land stages: the spooky forest of Haunting Spookscape or the candy land of Devilish Sweets on the map next.

Trivia[]
- The following enemies were removed from the level after its revamp in the v0.81 version: Buster Beetles, Hammer Bros (SMB3 version), Ball N Chains and Koopa Troopas (SMB3 verison).
- Ballonboos were originally absent from this level.
- The present item containers come from the Toejam and Earl series.
- This is the first level that was made for World 7.
- Starting with the v0.92 update, Calliope the Clown now sports a spike on his hat, making it a better indication that he cannot be jumped on and is only vulnerable as the spike disappears after he spawns his trampoliness. The spike reappears every time after he is stomped on until he is defeated.
