The Transitway is the 3rd level in The Mushroom Kingdom.
Layout[]
This level takes place in a glassy field filled with green hills, mountains, giant mushroom-like platforms, and clouds with a smiley face in the background. Much like The Entryway, this level is very straightforward, as the player will simply have to get through the common Mario enemies, such as Goombas and Koopa Troopas, while collecting coins and jumping on ? blocks to get some power-ups. At the end of the level, the player grabs the flagpole to complete the level as they go into a Ghost House next on the map.
Alternately, there is a secret boss area located in one of the pipes in the second half of the level. Upon entering that pipe, which takes the player to an underground area, the player fights Mouser, who attacks by throwing purple bombs at them that explode after a set amount of time. When Mouser is low on health, he will occasionally throw the walking bombs called Bob-ombs. There are two ways to damage Mouser: by throwing the bombs back at him or by using a projectile attack like a Fire Flower. After Mouser is defeated, the secret area is cleared, as the player now has access to the level Subcon Panic! on the map.

- When it was first introduced, this level was a faithful recreation of the first level of Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels. It was later revamped into an original layout in order to provide a more interesting experience.
