The Fusionist is the main antagonist of Mushroom Kingdom Fusion and the leader of the Fusionist's Finest.

History:

The Fusionist is a scientist that creates chaos in the all worlds of the game, putting what should not be there. His full backstory and motivation of causing the events of MKF is WIP.

Role In MKF:

The Fusionist is mentioned as the culprit of the whole game but does not physically appear for now. It is still unclear if the Mushroom Kingdom Coalition will have to fight him or not. Towards the end of The Fusionist's Lab, the final level of World 5: Gehenna, The more-friendly Professor Hector tells the player of the Fusionist's absence, and the professor suspects that something else awaits the player. After going through the door, the player will fight the Cacobirdo, one of his creations, as the World Boss instead.

Trivia:

• Earlier ideas regarding the Fusionist that were scrapped include the following:
  • Being a member of Legion's Finest but was promoted as the main antagonist due to the removal of Legion.
  • The World Boss of World 5 in his lab, while Cacobirdo was supposed to be the Mini-Boss of the level.
  • As a regular boss in the since-scrapped level Moscow Malady.
  • As a mini-boss of Metropolitan Siege (an Alternate Earth level formerly known as Military War Zone), where the Coalition would have confronted him as he escaped the base with a top secret project in question.
  • As a boss in a level found in Edge of Beyond.
