Slithering Pit is the 6th level in The Megaverse and is based on Snake Man's stage from Mega Man 3.
Layout[]
This level takes place in some sort of green mechanical fortress with a heavy theme around snakes. It is the home of the predator, Robot Master Snake Man, who will hunt down any unwelcome visitors.
In the first area, the player must navigate past a multitude of robotic snake heads spitting projectiles and Hammer Joes, alongside other non-robotic enemies within the area. After that, the player will fight against the level's mid-boss, a larger version of the smaller snake heads.
The last area takes place outside on top of the fortress, where the player battles through more enemies. They must also platform on propeller-shaped cloud platforms while avoiding many Bomb Fliers coming towards them.
Finally, the player battles Snake Man and defeating him clears the level. The player looks outside of the fortress, which features a view of the beautiful seaside of the next section of the World 3 map: The Riverside Station.
