Shroom Lagoon is the 8th level in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Layout[]
The first area takes place in an underwater lagoon full of coral reefs, seaweed, and mushrooms. This is the first level area in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion where the player is completely underwater, rather than switching between land and underwater in the past levels. They travel through this underwater area while dealing with the aquatic Mario enemies, such as Cheep Cheep, Lava Lotuses that spit four fireballs around it (similarly to Volcano Lotuses), Porcupuffers that chase the player around and can only be defeated by a strong power-up like a Hammer Bro Suit, and Jelectros that are invincible to all kinds of attacks and must be simply avoided. At the end of the area, the player enters a pipe to the next area.
The second area takes place in a lake full of mushrooms and shrooms above the ground. This is a very straightforward area, as the player will travel on many mushroom tree platforms, some of which can bounce the player to higher ground, and boats that are probably used by the Koopa Troop to go fishing. Enemies encountered here include the Goombas wearing sunglasses, Lakitus who throws Spinies at the player, Sidesteppers and the purple, mushroom-like aliens known as Shroobs, who fire their ray guns at the player. At the end, the player reaches the flagpole to clear the level as they go to Koopa Cove next.
