Robotnikland is the final level of World 7: Isle of Genesis, where the player confronts Dr. Eggman (also known as Dr. Robotnik) one last time at his headquarters.
Layout[]
Robotnikland is an industrial megatropolis, full of many mechanical buildings and factories, with the Death Egg in the center of the land ruled by Dr. Eggman. Sonic, Tails and the other members of the Mushrooms Kingdom Coalition travel through this place to stop Dr. Eggman's plan of taking over this world.
Act 1 has the player travel through different Eggman headquarter bases from The Classic Era of Sonic games.
The first area is based on Scrap Brain Zone Act 1 from Sonic 1 as it takes place outside of the mechanical city with the Death Egg sitting on the land in the background above the red polluted sky and acid river in the bottom. The player will fight through the Badniks enemies, such as Caterkillers, Moto Bugs, Buzz Bombers and Bloominators, while dealing sevearl hazards, such as avoiding the buzz saws popping out of the ground, riding on conveying belts and standing on the green platform that will flip the player underneath if they stand on it too long, which usually leads to the bed of spikes or the acid river in the bottom.
The second area is based on Metropolis Zone form Sonic 2 as it takes place inside of the mechanical facility. full of flashing lights and many mechanical gears in the background. The main gimmick of this area is the Metal Nuts, which are metallic nuts on screws that can be used like a elevator to reach the higher ground and getting cross the pitfall. The player will have to be careful as some of the areas feature Starfish-like Badniks called Asterons, which will slowly chase the player around before self-destructing, causing the spike around their body to spread around and can hurt the player if any of the spikes hit them. The player will also battle though more Badniks, such as Crabmeats, Robot Mantises, and Egg Pawns. At the end of this area, the player will go down to the bottom to the next area.
The last area of Act 1 is based on the bad future version of Metallic Madness Zone from Sonic CD. It takes place in the purple, mechanical underground area of the city, which is full of rusty old machines and some of the lights are barely functional. The player will battle even more Badniks, such as the Eggrobos, Needlenoses, and Spikes, while avoiding the brown, rusty saw blades once again. At the end of the area, the last Sonic doppelganger known as Mecha Sonic appears from the top and prepares to attack. After taking enough damage, Mecha Sonic will kneel down as his body starts to malfunction a bit before retreating as the player will use the spring to go to Act 2.
Act 2 take place back in the mechanical city, which now consists of a carnival theme around it as the Death Egg was launched into space with Dr. Eggman and his Badnik army celebrating with confetti balloons and lights flashing all over the place. This is one huge area around the rollercoaster track that the player has to explore while fighting though the many different types of Badniks and using the flippers to get to higher ground while avoiding the bumpers and spikes.
Once the player reaches the end, they will find Dr. Eggman, but he flies away after Mecha Sonic shows up again to end this fight once and for all, only to malfunction and explode. Dr. Eggman then flies into space with a rocketship. The player is alerted about this and has to take their own rocket that flies them to the Death Egg in space with the final checkpoint and three powerup monitors as they prepare for the [final battle against him.
The final fight with Dr. Eggman in his Great Eggman Robo now begins. In the first phase, the player will have to destroy the fingers of each of the two hands of the Great Eggman Robo while avoiding being crushed by it and dodging many attacks, such as missiles and lasers. When half of the Great Eggman Robo's fingers are destroyed, it begins to electrocute its pawn and shoots a spark at the ground when the two hands are slammed together. After destroying all of the fingers. The Great Eggman Robo falls down to the bottom of the screen and rise up on the left side of the area as the second phase begins.
The Great Eggman Robo will begin to chase the player down as it fires a variety of deadly weapons, such as a flamethrower or missiles. The only way it can take damage is for the player to pick up the flashing missle and throw it at the chest as the Great Eggman Robo is immune to any attacks the player throws at it. After the Great Eggman Robo has half of its health depleted, it will reveal the Master Emerald in it cord and start charging up before firing a laser that the player will have to perfectly time to avoid it. After taking enough damage, The Great Eggman Robo will start slowly exploding as it slowly falls to the ground. As a result, a now-panicked Dr. Eggman, in his Egg Mobile. rises up to escape the wreckage and starts to flee as a player begins to chase him.
The last phrase has the player chasing Dr. Eggman down as they must stop him a few times while avoiding his attack, such as bouncing spikes ball and bombs.
After Dr. Eggman is defeated for the last time, he begins to fall out of his Egg Mobile but the Death Egg starts to fall apart as well. Starting with the rumbling and shaking, the bursts begin to go off, which then eventually covers the entire screen before disappearing in a flash. The screen then cuts to the player falling out of the sky, but is then rescued by Tails (or Sonic if playing as Tails) piloting the Tornado biplane. The player has now saved the Isle of Genesis and getting the World 7 Key to clear the level.

Trivia[]
- The level's name and design comes from the final level in Sonic Unleashed, representing Dr. Eggman's ultimate ambition to create his own land and rule over it.
- The original final level in world 7 was supposed just taking place only inside of the Death Egg from Sonic 3 & Knuckles which included a gravity upside down gimmick before it was scrapped and changed to Robotnikland and Death Egg only appears in the background and the last two area.
- Tails is seen piloting the Tornado during the final scene of the level. However, if the player's character is Tails, than Sonic is the piloting the Tornado instead.
- The carnival area is based on Carnival Night Zone from Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
- This was also some Carnival /Circus theme around the original Robotnikland in Sonic Unleashed.
- The Crabmeat and Robot Mantis apparel in the second area is a reference to Shellcrackers and Slicers of the original Megatropolis Zone in Sonic The Hedgehog 2.
- This is only World Boss level to have a cutscene ending.
