“You've come a long way”— Robirdo, Super Mario Advance: Super Mario Bros. 2.
Robirdo is a giant robotic version of Birdo and is one of the many bosses found in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion.
History[]
Robirdo's only appearance is in the 2001 Game Boy Advance game Super Mario Advance: Super Mario Bros. 2, a remake of the 1988 NES game Super Mario Bros. 2. Robirdo is absent in the original SMB2 and in the 1993 SNES remake in Super Mario All-Stars. In the Advance version of SMB2, Robirdo is found as the World 3 boss, replacing the second boss fight against Mouser, who was the boss in the NES and SNES versions and the second boss fight against him was moved to World 6 (replacing Tryclyde).
During the boss fight, Robirdo fights much like Birdo but the eggs it shoots out of its mouth are much larger. It also attacks by charging after the player and can also cause earthquake-shaking ground pounds that can temporarily stun the player if they don't dodge the attacks in time. The player can climb on the chains to evade Robirdo's attacks. It takes five hits to defeat Robirdo and the player clears World 3.
Role in MKF[]
Robirdo is found in the level Jailbird Showdown and is fought much like how it was in the original game. However, it also has additional attacks, such as launching angry-looking hearts at the player and summoning Koopa Troopa shells, which can be used to damage it. There are also vines hanging on the ceiling for the player to evade Robirdo's attacks. After dealing enough damage to Robirdo, it explodes and the player is rewarded with a 3-Up Moon and several Rupees.
