Rice Beach is the 4th secret level in the Mushroom Kingdom and is based on the first world of Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3.
Layout[]
This level takes place in a tropical beach full of caves, skull and crossbones covered boxes and barrels and many treasure to search for in the Kitchen Kingdom. This is where Wario started his own adventure after Mario took back his castle from him in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. In the original game, Wario was set on his quest to steal a golden statue of Princess Toadstool from the Brown Sugar Pirates and their leader, Captain Syrup, which he then intended to ransom for the money to buy his own castle. Along the way, he collected or stole any other coins and treasures he found along the way.
The player will explore around the beach and the many caves, collecting many coins and rupees along the way by breaking the blocks with eyes on them. Along the way, they will fight through many enemies here from the Brown Sugar Pirates, such as Pirates Gooms, Gaugaus and Penkoons, in addition to other enemies found in the caves like Munchers, Helmuts, Droppers and even a ghost version of the Pirate Gooms. There also some Chicken Duck around the area that the player can toss another enemy in its basket on the top for some bonus coins and the blob called White Puff, which can be used like springs but can also be danger as it can also lead the player to another enemy or spikes on top of it.
At the end, the player will fight the assault captain of the Brown Sugar Pirates know as Spiked Koopa, who attacks by ducking into his turtle shell and spinning across the floor. To hurt him, the player must attack him with the Mushroom Block placed in the arena. Alternately, if the player is playing as Wario or Waluigi, they can attack with the dash tackle when Spiked Koopa leaves himself open. After Spiked Koopa's defeat, a rain of coins will appear from above as the level is completed.
