Rainy Perils

Rainy Perils is the 14th level in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Layout[]

This level takes place in a heavy rainstorm that is flooding many of the clouds in the Sky World. The player has to jump on clouds and spinning platforms that will swing the player away if they stay on them for too long. There are also areas of water that are not safe to swim on due to the thunderstorm and can damage the player if he or she falls into the water. A Starman can be used to swim safely in some of the water areas but the player must quickly find another Starman before it runs out. There are also bubbles to swim across the area but the player must also be aware of small lightning bolts that turn into flames (the ones summoned by Sumo Bros) that must avoided or else risk getting hurt by them.

The second area have the player travel the waterfall case by the gray clouds underneath while dealing with Goombas dressed raincoats with an umbrella and other enemies. At the end, the player gets to the flagpole to clear the level and they now have access to the Yellow Switch Palace on the map.

Trivia[]

  • The original name of this level was Stormy Sprint.
  • This level replaced the SMB3-based level Sky World Medley in the v0.7375 Funny Parallax update.
  • This is one of the few levels from the since-cancelled sister project Super Mario Fusion: Revival that has been added in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion.
  • Starting with the v0.81 of MKF, Goombas now wear raincoats. Previously, they used their default appearance.
    • Prior to the v0.88 update, some Goombas were seen trapped in bubbles.
  • Amps were previously absent but were added after the level was revamped in the v0.81 version of MKF. However, they were removed in the v0.88 update.
  • The following enemies were removed after the level was revamped in the v0.82 version: Lava Lotuses, Shy Guys, Snifits, Chain Chomps, Boos, & Hammer Bro. Cheep Cheeps were also removed from the level in the v0.88 update.
