Layout[]
Raccoon City was once a normal city in Arklay County before everything changed for the worst, when the T-virus outbreak started and began turning the innocent people into zombies along with loose mutant creatures on the run. Thank the company responsible for it: The Umbrella Incorporation.
The player starts on the devastated and zombie-filled streets of Raccoon City. The player will have to enter a pipe to the underground route through the sewers first before heading directly to the highway that will lead them to their first destination: the city's police station garage area.
The Human Zombies are a unique enemy type, as while they can be stopped temporarily after taking enough damage, they can only be killed by using a shotgun or explosive weapons like a grenade launcher. Another way to permanently defeat a Zombie is to become invincible after collecting a Starman. There are also other dangerous mutant enemies like the Lickers and Iron Maidens to watch out for.
Once the player arrives in the police station garage area, they will have to deal with a suddenly appearing zombie horde and get their weapons to fight them off. After killing a specific amount of the "undead zombies", the player will meet a survivor, Jill Valentine, who will appear in a truck and smash the remaining zombies around them and take them to a safe location as there's a rescue team on their way.
The player then arrives at the checkpoint in the construction building as Jill stays behind to run off the zombies, as they will face the aggressive and murderous mutant known as the Tyrant who attacks with his dangerous law claws. After taking enough damage, Jill will appear with a rocket launcher and shoot it at the Tyrant, killing the mutant for good as a rescue helicopter comes to pick them up to escape the city as the level is completed.

Trivia[]
- The original version of this level was located in World 2: Alternate Earth but was relocated to World 4 and later replaced with Zombie Firestorm, likely because Resident Evil, which this level is based on, is a horror-based video game franchise. Prehistorik Isle took its original place on the World 2 map before the map was heavily revamped in a later update of MKF. In the v0.82 update, Raccoon City was reinstated into the game and placed in the North American section of World 2.
- The Zombies being fought in the original version of this level come from Metal Slug 3 and Metal Slug 4.
- The Killer Dogs from Wolfenstein 3D in the original version of level is a nod to the Zombie Dogs from Resident Evil 2. Likewise, the Ravens from the Castlevania series represent the Crows from Resident Evil.
- Many of the car graphics and tilesets from the original version of this level come from the Metal Slug games.
- In the earlier versions of this level, Rebel Soldiers were reskinned as Umbrella Solders from Resident Evil before being removed from the level and were placed in Halls of the Damned. while the Goombas were reskinned as Lickers in the latter part of the level, before being moved to Sanctum of Torment.
- The music in this level comes from Resident Evil 2 except for the boss fight against the Tyrant, which used the boss theme from Gradius V.
- Maggots from ActRaiser were found in the original version of the level but were removed.
