Pirate Resort is the 3rd secret level in the Isle of Genesis and is based on The Beach and The Cove levels from the 1994 (1993 in Europe) Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game Puggsy made by Traveller's Tales.
Layout[]
After finding the secret exit in Toyland, the player enters a tropical island, which seemed to be really relaxing at first. But upon discovery, the whole island is ruled by pirates! This is the first place that the alien space hopper Puggsy crash-landed and his spaceship was stolen by the raccoon natives.
The main objective in this puzzle-like level is to use trampolines, pick up barrels to reach higher places and to find keycards hidden throughout the area while fighting pirate-theme enemies, various Badniks and other enemies, such as Starfish, Crabs and Bats.
Once clearing the Beach areas, the player is now in The Cove and the pirates are in a hot pursuit as they have blocked the exit. This area is one huge room as the player will not only have to find the correctly colored key cards but also find some firesticks to fire up the cannons to open up new pathways. In additional to getting all the keycards, the player must also gather up various pieces of a pirate bird artifact and restore the artifact to its original glory. Once successful in restoring the pirate bird artifact, the player can escape from the Cove as they spot the sign post and complete the level.
