Pako the Octopus is a giant pink octopus and the boss of Dire Dire Docks, a level in World 1: The Mushroom Kingdom.
History[]
Pako's first and only appearance was in Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins for the Game Boy. There, Pako was located in the Turtle Zone and guarded one of the six Golden Coins.
In MKF[]
In Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, Pako fights much like he does in the only game he appeared in. He will attack the player by swimming around and releasing its offspring, which cannot be be defeated and can only be avoided. In order to defeat Pako, the player has to hit his head several times. Using projectile-based attacks, if available, can also deal damage to the octopus. Pako has an additional attack exclusive to MKF as he can cause the room to go dark, making it difficult for the player to attack him or to dodge his smaller offspring. After about six hits, Pako goes down in defeat and the player clears the level.

- Pako's name is a combination of his Japanese name "Pako" and his English name (simply just "Octopus").
