Metropolitan Siege was the 17th and penultimate level in Alternate Earth. However, the level was removed in the v0.91 Rev 02 update of Mushroom Kingdom Fusion and was replaced with a new level, Ratship Incursion in the v0.92 update.
Layout[]
After the event of Airship Antics, the player arrives in what appears to be in a dilapidated and war-torn city, as the Peregrine Falcon Squad and The Rebel Army are in an all-out battle between freedom and control. Jinborov Karnovski, also know as Karnov and a strongman for the Soviet Union's Central Asian, is leading the attack and the player will team up with him to help clear out the war-faring chaos. He is also the first helper the player meets in MKF.
The stage is one long area that requires the player to negotiate a small maze of structures to find any power ups, weapons and grenades while battling a overcoming a numerous swarm of troops, helicopters and missile launchers.
At the end, grab the flagpole to clear the level and the player will then be picked up by Eri Kasamoto in a helicopter as she takes them to their final mission.

Trivia[]
- This level was originally made for the prototype of MKF called Super Mario MF and is one of only four levels ever made for that now-scrapped fan game. In MKF, this level would be recreated from its Super Mario MF layout.
- Originally, this stage was named Military War Zone.
- Di-Cokkas, Iron Isos, Banzai Bills, Albatosses, and the SMB2 Bob-Ombs were originally absent in this level.
- Pirate Gooms were originally found in this level but were removed.
- The tileset for this level comes from the 1995 SNES game Super Turrican 2.
- The background is a ruined cityscape from the arcade game Two Crude.
- According to the old MKF forum, the tank named SV-001 from the Metal Slug series was planned to appear in this level but was scrapped due to the removal of an advance vehicle system that would had allowed the player to enter and control vehicles. The playable tanks would appear in a few levels of the long-cancelled sister project Super Mario Fusion: Revival.
- Prior to the v0.81 version of MKF, Karnov didn't appear as a helper. Marco Rossi was later added in the v0.9 update to explain to the player on why Karnov is helping them in this level.
- Starting in the REV 02 update, Karnov was relocated to the level Himalayan Peaks, due to the removal of this level.
