Marble Acropolis is the third level of World 7: Isle of Genesis. It is a Fusion level based on the Marble Zone of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game & the Graveyard level of Altered Beast, which was first released in arcades in 1988 and later ported to the Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive).
Layout[]
The Marble Zone is a city of crumbling ruins behind the mountain, whose foundation has since been penetrated by a steady flow of lava. It is also the second zone in the Sega Genesis version of the first Sonic game as Sonic is on his adventure stop Dr. Robotnik and save the captured animal buddies.
The Graveyard is a cemetery and burial ground in ancient Greece for the people to pray and pay respect for their lost ones. This is the first area in Altered Beast that the unnamed, magical beast-transforming hero, summoned by Zeus, goes to on his quest to save Zeus's daughter, Athena, from Neff, the demonic ruler of the underworld, and his undead army.
The Marble Ruins now have a graveyard in the background mixed in with both the ancient ruins and statues of both places mentioned above. Also, both acts feature auto-scrolling, a reference the gameplay of Altered Beast.
Act 1 is very straightforward as the player battles a wide range of enemies, such as big zombies, yellow reptile creatures and several of Dr. Eggman's Badniks. Also, there are springs and hidden walls throughout the area and the player can use them to collect rings, rupees and red coins.
Act 2 is a bit more challenging as the player has to deal with more hazards, such as evading beds of spikes, jumping over the lava and avoiding Podoboos, and pillars that rise up and down, crushing the player if they are standing on them below a ceiling or are beneath them on the ground.
After getting past this place, go to the sign pole and clear the level. Afterwards, the player will go to the Echoing Seaside section on the map and visit Angel Island.

- The music used in this level is Cryptic Marble by DistantJ a Sonic the Hedgehog OC Remix.
- The level currently has a normal exit but there were earlier plans of a boss battle against the Egg Mobile Fire but were scrapped.
- This level's name used to be Marble Zone.
