Mad Scienstein is a scientist and mini-boss found in the Avenue of Memories level Fever Frenzy.

Mad Scienstein comes from the 2000 Game Boy Color game Wario Land 3, where his attack pattern is throwing his potions at Wario. If hit by Mad Scienstein's potions, Wario turns into his Invisible Wario form. Mad Scienstein also appeared in the 2001 N64 game Dr. Mario 64, where he assists Rudy the Clown (the main antagonist in Wario Land 3) in stealing the Megavitamins, prompting Mario or Wario to pursue him throughout the game. Mad Scienstein also appeared in the 2001 Game Boy Advance game Wario Land 4 as a tool Wario often uses to obtain riches.
Role in MKF[]
In Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, Mad Scienstein is causing havoc by unleashing a group of Viruses in the Music Box World and the Mushroom Kingdom Coalition must thwart his plans. Unlike most bosses and mini-bosses found throughout the game, Mad Scienstein is not fought directly. In fact, he is actually helpful as he continuously throws capsules at the player that can be used to defeat the Viruses. However, Mad Scienstein also throws a yellow potion that can harm the player and the player must dodge those. After the last of the Viruses are defeated, Mad Scienstein is defeated and the player moves on to clear the level.

- Mad Scienstein first appeared in The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls, under the name of Dr. Arewo Stein, or Dr. Ivan Knit in the fan translation. As an NPC, Mad Scienstein helps out the player on several occasions with his inventions.
