“Below the depths lies the resting place of Yam, later known as The Leviathan: a goddess of the sea that the native Genna once revered."
Even the very sea you now cross was once named after her: Yim-shal-Yam (""The Sea of Yam").”
― Info Box, "Lair of the Leviathan"
Lair of the Leviathan is the 6th level in Gehenna. Here, The Leviathan has awaken & has swallowed the player whole! As a result, the player must navigate through the Leviathan's organs in order to reach safety!
Layout[]
Similar to Corpse of the Behemoth, this level takes place inside the body of a giant creature, with the notable difference of the beast still being alive as opposed to being dead. This level is more platforming-based than anything else as the player must navigate past spikes using moving platforms, tendrils, and other internal organs.
The last section of this level is a swim through caustic stomach acid. The player must constantly be under the effects of a Starman in order to avoid taking damage.
The player must also find and destroy several pulsating red cysts in order to force the Leviathan to spit him or her out in order to escape.
It is possible for the player to finish the level without getting swallowed by the Leviathan. But this can be difficult to do this, They simply have to swim in the auto-scroll area and reach the end while avoid getting eaten. Whenever the Leviathan misses, its bites will cause rocks to fall from the ceiling, These rocks can damage the player upon contact, meaning that the player must safely swim to dodge them.

- In the most earliest versions of Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, this level contained many Mario enemies as placeholders, such as Bloopers, Dry Bones, Buzzy Beetles, Bony Beetles, Venus Fire Traps, and Li'l Sparkys. Bone Towers from Castlevania were also present before being replaced.
- The name would later to be reused as a stage for Xeno Fighters R.

- In the v0.92 update of MKF, the song when inside the Leviathan changed from 'Impact Crater' to 'Phozon Mines' due to the amount of backlash the previous song got.
