King Dedede is a boss found in World 8: Avenue of Memories. He is the arch-rival of Kirby and the self-proclaimed ruler of Dream Land.
Origin[]
King Dedede first appeared in the 1992 Game Boy game Kirby's Dream Land, the very first game in the Kirby series, as the main antagonist and final boss. Since then, King Dedede has become a major character in the Kirby series, appearing in many games. He also appeared as a playable fighter in the 2008 Wii game Super Smash Bros Brawl, the third in the Super Smash Bros series.
While King Dedede is often viewed as a hostile rival to Kirby, he's not so bad when compared to most of the other recurring video game villains that appear in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. In fact, King Dedede has turned over a new leaf and has become one of Kirby's closest friends and allies, having assisted Kirby many times against foes like Dark Matter, the Master Crown, or the Jambandran cult. At his worst, Dedede is more motivated by greed rather than world domination and does honestly care about his "subjects".
Role in MKF[]
In MKF, King Dedede is encountered in the level Greens Panic as the end-level boss.
Strategy[]
King Dedede attacks by charging after the player and occasionally tries to suck the player into his mouth. Halfway through the fight, King Dedede will also float around as well as using his large mallet to strike the player. After each strike from his mallet, there are two stars that the player can pick up and throw them back at King Dedede.
Trivia:[]
- During early development of MKF, King Dedede was planned to be member of the since-abandoned group called the Anti-Coalition and would had been the counterpart to Kirby, who was ultimately scrapped as a playable character from the game.
