Haunting Spookscape was the 9th level in the Isle of Genesis and was based on the Transylvania area from Quack Shot Starring Donald Duck.
Layout[]
The level takes place in a haunted forest with a castle ruins, which was once owned by a duck version of Dracula before being defeated by the main character, Donald Duck, by a plunger shot to the face to collect the treasure map in the castle.
The first area is filled with enemies, most notably Green Balls, Henchmen and Bats from the game Puggsy. There are also friendly purple ghosts that acts like springs for the player to bounce on and function more as allies rather than enemies. A fire rod appears throughout this level just in case the player doesn't have a projectile-based powerup. The player then reaches the door of a castle but when they enter, they are sent into the ruins. From there, the player will encounter enemies coming out of coffins, such as Skeletons from Castlevania and Ground Skeletons from Black Tiger, as well as light blue ghosts that randomly pop out of nowhere and float in the air. The player will have to make use of a fire rod along their way.
Afterwards, the player then reaches another door that takes them to the deeper part of the ruins with a checkpoint next to two barrels containing powerups. This section is mostly underwater, and contains several more obstacles and enemies, including Moon Tribes, Fishbones, low-hanging Ball-N-Chains, slow moving spike traps and Boos. After passing through this section, the player finds a purple ghost which sends them to a room which contains two Fire Flowers. In the next room, the player confronts the boss that has taken over the castle, who turns out to be the Ghost Snowman, a boss originally found in the 1990 Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Ghostbusters (based on the popular 1980s film series).
At first, the Ghost Snowman looks like an ordinary background item, but comes to life when the player passes through it. The Ghost Snowman starts off by hovering both up and down at times, spitting out Snowmen that turn to Snowballs, when hit to throw at the boss while also shooting ice particles, which range in size from small to large, at the player. When the Ghost Snowman starts getting low on health, he unleashes snowflakes on the screen, while shooting out particles, similarly to King Watinga's shots in his first and (formerly) second appearance in a later world. After his health has been depleted at 50% or lower, the Ghost Snowman temporarily grows arms and floats up and summons a Blizzard, which pushes the player around the screen. After being defeated, the Ghost Snowman floats to the top and simply explodes and the stage has been completed. After exiting the Castle Ruins, the players will see a Giant Beanstalk that leads them to the next level.

- Starting in the v0.93 version of Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, this stage was replaced with Soaring Donjon.
- Ghost Snowman, the boss of this level, was relocated to Himalayan Peaks, now serving as that level's boss.
