Hammer Bros. Suit

The Hammer Bros. Suit is a second-tier powerup in which the character gains a Hammer Bros-like projectile attack or defense-related power-up. It is stronger than the Fire Flower-based powerups as it can defeat certain enemies that the Fire Flower-based powerups cannot defeat.

• Mario turns into Hammer Mario. Based on a Hammer Bro, Mario has the ability to throw hammers in an arc at enemies. The Hammer Bros Suit can also protect against projectiles and has some fire-based protection when ducking.
• Luigi turns into Boomerang Luigi. Based on a Boomerang Bro, Luigi can throw boomerangs that travel along a set path until he catches them or they fly off-screen. He also can duck under the shell for protection.
• Wario will turn into Sledge Bro Wario, which gives him the appearance based on the Sledge Bro. In this form, Wario can create shockwaves whenever he lands from a ground pound, as well as throwing two hammers per button press. He also gains projectile protection when ducking.
• Waluigi will turn into Foreman Spike Waluigi, giving him the appearance of Foreman Spike. In this form, Waluigi can throw only one powerful hammer at a time.
• Sonic and Tails will gain the Bubble Shield, which reflects most projectiles like the Fire Shield. It will grant them the ability to perform a bounce that'll allow them to reach higher places. For Sonic, this will disable his Insta-Shield ability.
• Link will gain the Megaton Hammer. This will replace his current sword. The hammer is much stronger but slower to swing than a regular sword and when at full health, it can be charged up for a stronger attack.
• Arthur will gain Golden Armor and a Sun Shield. This allows him to charge up a powerful attack by holding RUN. The shield also protects him from most projectiles.
• Roll will become Bass Roll, resembling Bass. She gains multi-directional shots like Bass, but loses charged shots. Her basic shots do more damage however.
• Simon Belmont acquires his armor from Castlevania 2 and wields his Flame Whip.
• Ryu Hayabusa will gain the Strider Suit, which increases Ryu's attack power, decreases his ammo cost, extends his sword reach and allows object summoning for 20 ammo.
• Samus gains the Plasma Beam. A thin powefull beam that pierces through enemies. It will also give her the Gravity Suit, which will increase her movement speed underwater.
• Kirby gains the Starfy suit and resembles Starfy of The Legendary Starfy series. Under this form, he can swim faster and perform a powerful spin in eight directions. Also, he can also do a downwards stomp by holding DOWN + JUMP midair.
• Legacy Link will become Bomb Link, wearing his magic armor from Twilight Princess. In this form, Link will throw bombs, just like hammers, but they will explode on contact with something. The bombs can destroy blocks too. If Link is ducking, then the bombs will move straight forward. Link's melee weapon changes to the Megaton Hammer in this form.
