Gomander is an boss that originated from the 1987 arcade game R-Type. Its core is often protected by biological sheaths or protected by bony tubes. The creature's weak spot is the blue gem-like orb that opens up briefly at the top. If it takes damage and stomped by player, the player leaps back to left, the orb shuts immediately to prevent further damage. Gomander's orb is also protected by Outslays and is very weak without them.
In MKF, Gomander is one of two bosses in the R-Type-based level found in Bydo Station, the other being Dobkeratops. Gomander also fights the same way it does in the original game. In the second half of the boss battle, the player dives into it's innards to destroy the Bydo from the inside.
