Geometric Palatinate is the penultimate and 18th level in Avenue of Memories and is based on the Magical Chase series for the TurboGrafx-16.
Layout[]
This level takes place in a colorful wood-made castle made by one of the demons that the young witch Ripple, the main protagonist in the original game, accidentally freed after breaking a promise by peeking into a forbidden book by her teacher. She goes on a quest to catch and seal the demons back into the book and is joined by her star companions, Topsy and Turvy.
The level starts off with a Message Block about this place and its inhabitants. The first main area is a right-sided, auto-scrolling section and consists of opening blue ? Blocks, which contain powerups and items, and introducing some new enemies, such as living wooden clockwalls, wooded ducks on wheels, and purple, bow-tied ghosts that look similar to Boos but shoot projectiles at the player. After passing that part, the player arrives at the first checkpoint area.
The second main area has the auto-scrolling sometimes going up and then going right as the player deals with more enemies and new hazards, such as Rotating Spike Balls and spikes that fall off the ceiling if the player is too close. After that, the player reaches the second checkpoint area and uses a rocket to fly up to the last main area.
The last area takes place above the castle with a pink sky in the background, which did not happen in the original stage of Magical Chase. The area starts auto-scrolling up first than it change right when they make to the top as the players battle more enemies and additional hazards to avoid, such as Rocket Engines and Climbers that enjoy hanging on to the chain. Some of the layout here is similar to the battleship level in Magical Chase.
After getting past that, the player will get the flagpole but will be shocked to learn that Master Hand has stolen it and suddenly grabs the player to fly away. Despite being grabbed away by Master Hand, the player has cleared the level, which leads to the final level of the world, Subspace Adventure.
