Frosty Flight is the 17th level in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Layout[]
This level takes place in the sky around the snowy mountains of the Ice Land.
The first area is an auto-scroll section as the player platforms around the mountain hills and ice block while dealing with various enemies, such as Koopa Troopas, Ptooies, Spikes, Buster Beetles and Paragoombas. At the end, the player enters a pipe to the next area. There is also a bonus area if the player has a fire-based power-up or sub weapon to melt the ice blocks, which leads to a blue pipe, where the player can get some goodies and a 1-up mushroom.
No matter if the player takes the normal route in the first area or the bonus area, they will be in the second area with a checkpoint and some Paratroopas before entering another blue pipe to the next area.
The last area goes back to more auto-scrolling as it goes up to the sky, as the player needs to stand on the clouds and ice cubes before slowly going back to the hills while dealing with more enemies. Near the end, the screen will slowly scroll up again, and the player needs to hit a ? Block to climb on the vines while avoiding the fireball from the Fire Bros on the hills and then ride on the Parabeetles to get across the pitfalls. At the end, the player grabs the flagpole to clear the level as they go to a crystal fortress next on the map.
