Foreman Spike is a mini-boss found in World 2: Alternate Earth. He is an obscure, villainous construction worker from the Mario series. Appearance-wise, he could be seen as a predecessor to Wario and Waluigi.
History[]
Foreman Spike first appeared in the 1985 NES game Wrecking Crew, where he got in the way of Mario and Luigi doing their jobs and tried to foil them. He returned in the 1998 Japan-only sequel Wrecking Crew 98, where his role is mostly the same as it was in the first game, but this time he works for Bowser.
Appearance[]
In Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, Foreman Spike has his Wrecking Crew 98 appearance as he drives a city truck in the last area section of the Skyscraper Domain level and chases after the player. Foreman Spike's truck is invincible and can instantly kill the player, even if he or she is fully powered or has a starman. The player has to run away as fast as they can and reach the end of the area, as they cannot backtrack or risk being run over by the truck.
Foreman Spike makes another appearance in the level Wreck City found in World 8: Avenue of Memories. Here, Foreman Spike once again serves as a mini-boss, this time continuously chasing the player up and down the latter as they try to denotate the bombs to blow up the walls. Dr. Wright revealed that Foreman Spike was originally hired as part of the demolition crew, only to betray them by constructing the tower. While Foreman Spike cannot instantly kill the player by touching them like he did with his truck, he can harm the player with his mallet. In addition, Foreman Spike is immune to the player's attacks, meaning that they simply have to avoid any contact with him. After unlocking the path to the next area, the player is followed by Foreman Spike, who continues his pursuit as the player now has to deal with Donkey Kong, who is on top of the stage throwing indestructible barrels at them. After defeating Donkey Kong by throwing a large barrel at him three times, both he and Foreman Spike fall off the stage in defeat.
Trivia[]

- The truck Foreman Spike drives says "Bob's Balloons" and features an image of the Balloon Fighter, the main protagonist of the NES game Balloon Fight.
