Flood Cacobirdo is the second secret boss in Edge of Beyond from Wart's Nightmare. It is a flood infested variant of the Cacobirdo, A boss previously seen in The Fusionist's Lab.

History[]
The Flood Cacobirdo is an original creation for Mushroom Kingdom Fusion.
Role in MKF[]
In Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, The Flood Cacobirdo appears as the boss of Wart's Nightmare. It functions similarly to the Cacobirdo, except that its eggs spawn a Flood Infection Form upon contact with the edge of the screen.
Strategy[]

Roll firing the Lightning Gun at Flood Cacobirdo
The Flood Cacobirdo can shoot either a long stream of eggs or move up and down and slowly fire eggs. There are two types of eggs: Flood eggs, which spawn an infection form upon impact with the edge of the screen; and explosive eggs that hurt you upon contact. You can dodge the egg streams by ducking or jumping onto the Flood eggs, but take care to avoid the infection forms that spawn from them. The Flood Cacobirdo may also fire several large explosive eggs at different areas of the screen, which explode into small explosive eggs that spread in multiple directions upon contact. Jump to avoid them. When performing the aforementioned attacks, the Flood Cacobirdo will occasionally fire Cacodemon fireballs aimed at the player. Be sure to pay attention to them as they can come at you from unexpected angles.
There is a Lightning Gun with unlimited ammunition at the bottom right of the arena, which can deal massive amounts of damage to the Flood Cacobirdo quickly. The safest place to stay during the boss fight is the top platform, where you do not have to worry about infection forms attacking you from behind. However, be sure to move to a different level when the Flood Cacobirdo moves from one side of the screen to another. When you are on one of the lower levels, use the Lightning Gun to quickly kill any infection forms that spawn.
Once the Flood Cacobirdo reaches critical health, it will create a barrier that protects it from the Lightning Gun. In this state, it can only be damaged by tossing Flood eggs at it. Carefully gauge the distance before throwing, and make sure to only pick up Flood eggs when it is safe to do so (the safest option is those that spawn during the slow phase of the egg firing attack). The Flood Cacobirdo only takes three egg tosses to kill, so remain patient and wait for your chance.
Trivia[]
- The infection forms spawned by Flood Cacobirdo only provide 100 points each when killed, even when killed in succession, preventing the player from using them to farm extra lives.
- The Flood Cacobirdo is currently the only triple fusion enemy in the game.
