Fillmore Weald is the 3rd level in Adventurer's Domain and is based on the opening act of Actraiser.
Layout[]
As the name implies, this level takes place in the heart of a thick forest, with patches of bramble vines acting as spikes. The player must use the rope platforms and friendly tree stumps called Platrees to safely traverse the bramble-ridden sections while avoiding enemies, such as the bouncing Rabites, angry Actraiser hornets, low flying Mana Dragons and acid spitting Eukaryotes. It won't be a simple hike through the woods.
The secret exit is found near the end of this level, though the player must keep the key with him/her in order to access it. The key is found in one of the treasure chests.
Changes[]
The original version of Fillmore Weald was known as Mystic Forest, which was originally the second level of Alternate Earth. The enemies mostly consisted of Mario enemies though Banzai Bills were later replaced by the Mana Dragons. More Goombas were added to the level as well. This level received a new makeover once again, this time being built from the ground up and ultimately became the final revamp. The original Mystic Forest level was removed in v0.5 of MKF but returned in its original form in the v0.6.5 version. However, in the v0.75 update, it was removed again when it was merged with another cut level, Verdant Plain, a level from World 2: Alternate Earth, to create a new level called Mystic Plains. In v0.8, the level was revamped a little bit to feel like its original version.
