Edge of Beyond is the ninth world in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. It features levels based on games with an overall science-fiction theme, such as Halo, Metroid, Contra and many more. The World Boss is Zeta Metroid.
The world can be accessed by completing the secret exit of Barren Badlands.
Description[]
Space is indeed the final frontier here in World 9, as the vastness of deep space and a rampaging war between numerous alien forces are all that remain. Originally the Halo galaxy, it became a central locus for the Fusion Effect that has transplanted whole planets and even solar systems into the fray, bringing with it innumerable alien threats that do not always get along with each other, forcing the Covenant into competition.
Edge of Beyond acts as the space/sci-fi world of the game, with the Halo series serving as the central focus of the world. However, stages based on other sci-fi or space-themed video games will be made as required or secret levels.
Like The Megaverse, this world contains an exclusive power-up in the form of the Sci-Fi Suit.

Trivia[]
- In older versions of MKF, this world used to be known as Halo Ringworld.
- The map of this world is based on space, but the planets and locations the player encounters are from the levels' overall themes from the said games, such as Mushroom Moon being based on Space Zone from Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins and Ceres Distress based off Ceres Space Station from Super Metroid.
- The shopkeeper of this world is Slippy Toad from the Star Fox series. He is one of the main characters in that series.
- In previous versions of the game, the world boss was 343 Guilty Spark, who appears in The Library, but since he technically doesn't fight the player and actually helps him or her in a way, the world boss was changed to Zeta Metroid, who is fought in Zebes.
- The "LEVEL COMPLETE" and "WORLD COMPLETE" script that appears after defeating a boss uses a font based on the Gradius series.
- Covenant Thy Veggies, while once a level, was deemed too small to serve as a full level and thus was converted to a battle level in v0.875.
- The world originally had a pipe to the right that read -1, which took the player to
The Minus Worldafter completing Zebes. However, it was removed in the v0.82 version, leaving this world (and Zebes) as the final part in the game with the current version (v0.85 Tangerine SAGE Rev C.).- However, three of the levels from that removed world, Abstract Landscape, Red Rock City and Well of Wishes were imported into this world starting from that version. However, the latter level was later removed in the v0.85 version thouhg elements from that level would be later used in a Battle Level in the previous world, Avenue of Memories.
- It should also be noted that Red Rock City was originally placed in World 9 before being relocated to the Minus World in earlier versions of MKF.
- According to the old defunct MKF Wiki, early ideas for levels that never materialized include the following:
- SR-388 (potentially based on Metroid II: Return of Samus)
- Pillar of Autumn (based on Halo CE level)
- Vohaul's Lair (based on Space Quest: Vohaul Strikes Back)
- Information Superhighway
- Idznak
- Alien Lair
- Aperture Science (likely based on the Portal series)
- Evil Engine No. 9
- Gradius Speed Zone (Gradius-themed level; possibly an early name for Intermezzo, then known as Interstellar Assault)
- unnamed Guilty Spark level (Halo-themed level)
- Subcon Panic Act 5 (SMB2-theme level; likely an earlier name for Wart's Nightmare)
- Tiberium Corruption (based on Command and Conquer)
- Imperial Refinery
