Dry Bowser is the optional level boss of his crypt in the Mushroom Kingdom. He mimics a retro form of the real Bowser during his battle.
History[]
Dry Bowser looks fairly similar to the real Bowser, except Dry Bowser has no skin, and has lava infused with his shell. In Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, Dry Bowser does not have any hair either, which is also a throwback to classic Bowser, as in Super Mario Bros. 1, Bowser had no hair.
Dry Bowser first appeared in New Super Mario Bros. after the original Bowser was dunked into the lava by Mario in the first Castle of that game. Dry Bowser would not be seen again in that game until the last world, where he would be fought, then revived (as Bowser) by Bowser Jr. after dying a second time.
Dry Bowser also appeared as a playable character in Mario Kart Wii, where he would be unlocked by beating all of the new cups in Grand Prix mode in 150cc with a one-star ranking or higher.
Dry Bowser's second spin-off appearance is in Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games, where he is the last rival character in the Festival Mode. He is captain of an ice hockey team of three Dry Bones, and himself.
Role In MKF[]
In MKF, Dry Bowser appears as the boss of his own Crypt, where he is a clone of Bowser. He represents a cameo of a retro style of Bowser, which is fitting, as his level is based off of a retro Super Mario Bros. castle anyways. Dry Bowser mimics the attack pattern of Bowser in Super Mario Bros. 3, where the player would have to trick Dry Bowser into destroying the blocks underneath him, and plunging himself into the lava.
