Dragonzamasu is a large sea dragon that is the ruler of the Muda Kingdom. He is one of the many bosses fought in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion.
History[]
Dragonzamasu originated from the 1989 Game Boy game Super Mario Land. He is the ruler of the Muda Kingdom and is the second boss fought in the game, after King Totomesu. He is also a bigger version of two enemies found in the game: Yurarin and Yurarin Boo.
Mario has to fight Dragonzamasu inside his Marine Pop. Dragonzamasu's main attack is spitting fireballs at Mario. In order to defeat him, Mario has to shoot twenty torpedoes at him, while dodging Tamao, who floats around the arena and can block the Marine Pop's torpedoes. Another way Mario can defeat Dragonzamasu is by shooting torpedoes at the blocks in the bottom right corner of the arena, and activating the switch behind these blocks.
In MKF[]
Dragonzamasu serves as the boss of Muda Madness, which is based on the three levels in the original SML. Dragonzamasu himself fights similarly like he did in the original game, but is much tougher. However, the player does not use a Submarine Pop to fight him and instead fights the boss like most other bosses in the game. The player can also throw rocks at Dragonzamasu to lower his health, much like in the boss fight against Clawgrip from Super Mario Bros 2.
Trivia[]
- Like the other characters that originated form Super Mario Land, Drgonzamasu is given a custom 16-bit sprite.
- When Super Mario Land was originally released, Nintendo of America did not localize the names of the enemies and bosses, including Dragonzamasu, that appeared in the game.
