Dinosaur Mountain is the 3rd secret level in the Mushroom Kingdom and it is based on Chocolate Island from Super Mario World.
Layout[]
Dinosaur Mountain is a land full of chocolate-shaped mountains with some lakes in the bottom, giant green mushroom trees, pipes and clouds with eye in the southeastern portion of Dinosaur Land. This is one of the places that Mario and Luigi travel through, along with the friendly dinosaur species call Yoshis, to rescue not only the baby Yoshi eggs stolen by the Kooplings and but also Princess Peach, who was kidnapped yet again by Bowser and is held captive in the Valley of Bowser castle.
The first main area is very straightforward as the player travels through the mountains while dealing with many enemies that debuted in SMW, such as the bipedal Koopa Troopas that get popped out of their shells after getting jumped on, Beach Koopas that can be defeated with any attack, the giant Bullet Bills known as Banzai Bills, and large, bulky Charging' Chucks that wear gridiron football gear and attack the player by trying to tackling them and take three jumps to be defeated, True to the name of the level, there are also many dinosaur creatures (which also debuted in SMW) that populate the area, such as like Rexes and the fire-breathing Dino-Torches. There are also yellow blocks called Rotating Blocks that spin around after being jumped and cannot be stood on until they stop. At the end, the player will enter a pipe to the next area.
The second area takes place above the mountain as there are pitfalls to watch out for. Here, the player will be platforming around the giant mushrooms, wooden bridges. Flimsy Lifts that swing around the gray platform, Note blocks and Stretch Blocks that alternating vertically or horizontally.
The player can also can collect the eight Dragon Coins (which are actually Red Coins) around the two areas to get the reward at the end of the level, which contains the flagpole to clear the level.

Trivia[]
- The original name of this level was Dinosaur Land, which also happens to be the main setting of Super Mario World.
- Fangs originally appeared in the underground section of this level but were replaced with Swoopers (which was rather appropriate as the latter made their debut in SMW). As of the Version 0.75 Update, however, the bats no longer appear in the level due to the removal of the underground section in the revamped level.
- Originally, this level was divided into three sections: Overworld, Athletic, and Underground with the Overworld area being based on Yoshi's Island 1 (the first level in the original SMW game). Since the Version 0.75 Update, however, the level has been heavily redesigned and is largely based on Chocolate Island 2 from the original game.
- Goombas, Cheep Cheeps, Spiny Cheep Cheeps, Lakitus, Spinies, Wigglers, Buzzy Beetles, Blarggs, and Swoopers were originally in this level but were removed when the level was revamped.
- Volcano Lotuses, Rip Van Fishes, and Sumo Bros were originally absent in the original version of this level.
- In the original version of this level, the Message Block at the beginning of this level referenced Yoshi, who made his debut in Super Mario World. The message hinted on why Yoshi was absent in MKF. However, ridable Yoshi mechanics were added in the since-cancelled sister project Super Mario Fusion: Revival.
- In the v0.8 update of MKF, this level was moved from the Ocean Side section of World 1 to the Desert Land section.
