Bridge to Morden is the final level of World 2, Alternate Earth, and the player will finally confront the main leader of the Rebel Army, General Morden, who serves as the World Boss.
Layout[]
This level takes place in a construction bridge as The Rebel Army is building it for a fusion portal. The player will be dropped off by Eri Kasamoto as she explains the final mission brief and hope them the best as luck as they are humanity's only hope.
The player will have to fight their way through seemingly endless hordes of Rebel soldiers as well as tanks, helicopters, rocket launchers and many more threats.
After reaching a specific area of the level, General Morden shows up in his Hi-Do helicopter but not without expressing his huge disappointment about the visual appearance of the player's character not fitting his military expectations. Morden then will try to test the player's "worthiness" by chasing him or her across the Rebel base while attacking with his rocket launcher.
After surviving this hunting section, the General will admit that the player is tougher than expected but does not have any more time for their "little training exercise". Now the time for real battle has come! Morden will stay in his helicopter while attacking the player with rockets, bombs and a huge machine gun. From time to time, the player will receive weapons (e.g. shot gun, flame thrower, etc.) from freed prisoners.
After taking enough damage, Morden's helicopter will go down and explode, destroying the battle arena's ground in the process and sending both him and the player down freefalling. While the player will land on an allied submarine, Morden will be rescued by the "Hairbuster Ribert", a huge battle air plane.
Now the final showdown begins! Prepare to get attacked by lots of rockets and grenades. Also, take care of the plane's maneuvers trying to crush you! Occasionally, the player will be assisted by Tarma Roving and Eri Kasamoto, both of whom ride on a hovercraft to supply the player with weapons as the battle against Morden rages on.
After a long, fought battle, the Hairbuster is start to explore as Morden jumps off in to the ocean with his last screen. The final mission is completed as the war is finally over and the Earth is saved. The players gains the World 2 key for completing the world.
