Bowser (aka “King of the Koopas”) is a first World Boss in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. He appears in World 1: The Mushroom Kingdom, making Bowser the first World Boss that the Mushroom Kingdom Coalition has to face.
History[]
Ever since Bowser’s debut in Super Mario Bros. in 1985 on the Nintendo Entertainment System, Bowser has constantly tried to prove his power over Mario. In order to face Mario, he has constantly kidnapped Princess Peach (Princess Toadstool prior to Super Mario 64) to lure Mario to him. It was soon discovered in Paper Mario that he also kidnap Peach because he loves her and want her to love him. Bowser’s attempts to defeat Mario have always ended up in failure, no matter what he tried to do. Despite his so-called “victory” at the beginning of Paper Mario, Mario, along with 8 new friends, stopped Bowser’s plans and returned peace to Mario’s world. Despite all of the failures, Bowser has never given up in trying to prove his strength over Mario or getting Peach to love him. Bowser has appeared in many different Mario games and series. He has appeared in the Mario Kart series, the Mario sports series, and the Mario Party series. His role in the Mario Party series was to stop the players from accumulating mass fortunes to win the game. Bowser has also appeared as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee and in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Bowser is known to have power, but is very slow in general.
Although Bowser is a villain in many of the Mario games, he isn’t as bad compared to other villains in other video game series. There were times that Bowser actually helped Mario in a quest to stop an evil force. Although Bowser doesn’t enjoy helping Mario, he will ally himself with his arch nemesis whenever he can’t do one of three things: That is whenever Bowser isn’t in control of his castle, able to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom or whenever someone else kidnaps Peach. Bowser has a personality where he has to be the one to kidnap Peach as he in love with her and don't want anything bad happening to her or to have his castle or the Mushroom Kingdom/world under his control.
Bowser has shown his good and bad sides in many of the different games he’s been featured in. Although Bowser has been defeated over and over again, he still continues to try to beat Mario and kidnap Peach again. Comparing Bowser to other villains, he is the most likely to be an occasional protagonist and an antagonist during his career.
Role In MKF[]
In MKF, Bowser appears as a boss in last level of The Mushroom Kingdom, Hell Prominence.
He has two battle phases, but at the same time a relatively large count of attacks:
- Spitting out a lot of fireballs towards the player (but the accuracy of this attack is low).
- Dash straight into one of the walls, causing bricks to fall from the ceiling (also falling blue bricks designed to attack Bowser).
- Throws giant hammers into the sky, after which they fall aiming at the player.
- Also, he can jump to upper left edge of arena, and then jump down, which will cause fiery trails to appear on the left and right of him.
- Bowser, when positioned on the upper left edge, is capable of spitting out special fireballs, which hit into the lava cause lava geysers to appear.
Strategy:[]
- Phase 1 - The player faces Bowser, who is immune to any player attacks. The player must dodge Bowser's attacks, where they must damage him by either throwing blue bricks at him or by picking up one of the large hammers that get stuck on the floor after being thrown by Bowser.
- Phase 2 - As Bowser rides on his Koopa Clown Car to escape, the player is soon approached by a scientist "Hector" riding another Koopa Clown Car, in which the player rides to pursuit Bowser. During the second phase, Bowser is in his Koopa Clown Car and attacks by either throwing hammers or launching fireballs at the player. He is also occasionally assisted by Kamek as the player must also dodge various Bullet Bills flying towards them, in addition to Thwomps that suddenly drop down on the player. After withstanding so much of Bowser's attacks, the player is finally able to finish him off during the second phase, thus clearing not only the level but also World 1 as a whole.
Trivia[]
- Bowser was originally supposed to join the Mushroom Kingdom Coalition after his defeat in World 1. After, in World 0, he was supposed to betray the Coalition in favor of the Villain Alliance.
- Originally, Bowser reveals that Peach is a "key" needed for Legion's plans in an early plot for MKF.
- If the clones Dry Bowser and Retro Bowser count, Bowser is fought three total in MKF.
- Bowser originally had one phase, but was buffed up in the v0.82 update, where he now has a second phase where the player must attack him using a Koopa Clown Car. Also, during the beginning of the fight, Bowser now has an opening dialog which differs depending on the player's character, much like in the fight against Dr. Wily.
