Arcade Factory is the scrapped stage from the Minus World, representing various arcade and Atari games such as Space Invaders and an early console port of Donkey Kong.
The level begins with a narrow tunnel filled with enemies, crushing pistons, conveyor belts and steam vents. The second part of the level is a vertical climb with attacks from passing Space Invaders, and rolling barrels dropped from Donkey Kongs. The level ends with a moderate-speed auto-scrolling section with many of the same obstacles as before.
History[]
Originally, Arcade Factory was the first level in the Minus World but was replaced as the opening level of World -1 by Pixel Factory. Pixel Factory is a revamp of Arcade Factory that makes the level fully themed off of classic Atari 2600 games, and also corrects a lot of design flaws in the original design, most noticeably the "cramped" feeling, with little space to avoid enemies and hazards. As of the 0.7 Grand Shroom update, Arcade Factory was restored and replaced Snowdriftland, which was moved over to Nintendo Subspace, the 8th World. Since the 0.75 update, this level was once again removed.
Enemies[]
- green piston crushers?
- Goomba (Atari skin)
- Steam Vents
- Space Invader (Space Invaders)
- Cyborg (Bezerk)
- moving blue triangular spikes?
- Grundle the Dragon (Adventure)
- Atari Donkey Kong (Atari 2600 version of Donkey Kong)
Trivia[]
- When this level was reinstated after being removed in earlier versions of MKF, it replaced Snowdriftland, which was relocated to World 8: Nintendo Subspace.
