Alcazar Lololo is the 2nd secret level in World 8: Avenue of Memories and it is based on both the Adventures of Lolo and Kirby series.
Layout[]
This level starts off outside a pink castle fort located in Dream Land. The fort is owned by Lololo and Lalala and is one of the many places that Kirby travels through to take back the stolen foods taken by the greedy King Dedede and his army.
The player must gain entrance to the fort while fighting the Kirby enemies guarding this castle, such as Broom Hatters, Bronto Burts, Waddle Doos, and Waddle Dees. Enemies from the Adventures of Lolo series, such as Snakeys and Gols, are found here as well. On top of that, there are enemies from other universes that try to hinder the player's progress.
The first room inside the castle has the player start at the bottom, and they must find their way to the top while dealing with various enemies, such as the bouncing balls on the ? blocks known as Chuckies, the undestroyable spikey Gordos, the floating Mumbies and the bat-like Flappers, that stand in their way.
The second room includes a room full of doors that only have a correct door. The player encounters even more enemies, such as the living mask-like Two Faces that will chase the player around and the indestructible cannon-like Shotzos.
The next area is now outside, as the player must continue to deal with more enemies and hazards before reaching a checkpoint area.
After the last checkpoint, the player will fight Lololo and Lalala, who march around and attack the player by putting Gordos at them. Both Lololo and Lalala have to be defeated at the same time since one of the two can revive the other if both are not defeated at the same time. After knocking out both Lololo and Lalala, a magical spell has suddenly broken on them, and they seem to be back to normal.
Lololo and Lalala apologize to the player, explaining that they were under mind control by a spell and give thanks for freeing them from it. They reveal that it was King Egger, the arch-enemy of the duo, who had put them under the spell and is planning to take over their kingdom once again. To stop his evil plan, Lololo and Lalala team up with the Mushroom Kingdom Coalition to defend their kingdom.
The player, now assisted by Lololo and Lalala, now ventures off into a tower consisting of several puzzle-based rooms. The player must collect a specific number of Heart Framers in order to unlock a chest with a key inside in order to advance to the next room. Lololol and Lalala have the special ability of turning their enemies into eggs. These eggs can be used to stack up a platform to reach higher areas, block the Medusa Statue attacks, and can be placed on spikes. The player will need to be careful after they open the chest, as it will activate the Skulls, which will chase the player and can only be defeated by Lololo and Lalala's magic.
After passing through all the rooms, the player and their allies enter the throne room, where they confront King Egger. In battle, King Egger uses homing projectiles against the player while keeping himself at the top of the screen. The only way to damage him is for Lololo and Lalala to turn the pushy Rocky enemies that periodically enter the fight into eggs and throw them at King Egger. After enough damage, King Egger is defeated, and the Kingdom of Lololo and Lalala, as well as Dream Land, is saved, and the player clears the level.
